Once again, I spoke too soon

I never learn do I.

Russia. They put us out today. 2-0. I can't say I am suprised, Canada did not seem to have that usual feeling of confidence after the rocky road that was the journey to the quarter finals. Defending a gold medal is difficult to do, the onus is on you to perform. We didn't. We are on our way home (well not me I am still in Glasgow).

Then again the Russians are 7-1 all time against Canada. Of course none of this matters really because of the 1972 Summit Series, oh yes and the failure of communism. (Sour grapes anyone? That was a joke BTW I have nothing against Russians, or anyone for that matter, I am a true pillar of diversity!)

Have Team Canada changed their name to "... 2 - Canada 0" for this Winter Olympics?

If it's any consolation at least there's no danger of the States winning this year - it's been a year of surprises in the hockey all round!

At least your sport of choice has an easy to understand offside rule - I fear that I may once more be educated in the problems with the offside rule by our friend "the Focker" after the second goal against the Gers :o))
